Update on French Polynesia Entry Process for Visitors and Yachts

The government of French Polynesia has just confirmed a progressive opening of borders starting May 1st and restricted to air arrivals from the USA.
Flights from the US will resume and US tourists will be allowed in with the usual PCR test done 3 days before flying.
An antigenic quick test will also be conducted at the airport while waiting for luggage and a self-test kit will also be remitted to be made 4 days or so after arrival.
People able to show a complete vaccination scheme (two shots) will be allowed in without quarantine. Others will have to complete ten days quarantine in a dedicated place at their own cost.

Yachts are not yet allowed to sail to Tahiti other than for a quick fuel stop but our industry is next in line. Discussions will be conducted next week to obtain a set opening date. A PCR test on arrival after 11 days at sea is currently requested to avoid quarantine but this may change as well. Meanwhile, for yachts ready to sail to French Polynesia, it would be good to begin preparing documents for your agent Tahiti Ocean to process.

The above update was provided by our friends at Tahiti Ocean.
